Nikoloz Melkadze
Once I finished my bachelor degree in Georgia, I started searching for LLM programmes. I had three priorities in this process. First, I wanted to study in Western Europe. Second, I wanted the university to be in top 100 of general rankings of the universities worldwide. Third, I wanted to study Public International Law. My list of choices narrowed down fast. I am extremely happy I ended up pursuing my LLM degree at the University of Groningen. Besides the high academic quality and a comfortable study environment, the faculty gave me a chance to advance my research and oral pleading skills beyond the required curriculum. I had a chance to participate in the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition. Extensive work throughout the year brought our university team a significant success at the international rounds of the competition. University staff and academic personal were very helpful in guiding me through any hardships as a foreign student living and studying in a different country. The city of Groningen was warm and welcoming as well. A clean and quiet environment, cycling everywhere, and some deserved leisure during my free time made my year fulfilled and unforgettable. I already began strongly recommending my friends to come and study at the University of Groningen for these reasons. The university has been very helpful in the job search process as well. I already have few offers and feel how much this degree is valued in my career field. I now have the opportunity to go back to my country or start my career in any other place I wish.
