Having successfully passed the bar exams in my home country, I was looking for a postgraduate programme specialized on human rights and a comprehensive search of the options available led me to apply for a place in the International Human Rights Law LLM. The University of Groningen is the ideal place to pursue a master's degree given its distinctive fame and ranking amongst other universities. The reason I chose to attend this particular programme is the fact that it is well-structured and the content of the courses is kept up to date. What I enjoyed the most about studying at RUG is the interaction with other international students. The Faculty of Law attracts a high number of students from all over the world and that offers you the opportunity to explore various different cultural backgrounds. The people working in the International Office are also extremely helpful. They are always there for you providing assistance and guidance on every matter. In addition, Groningen is the ultimate student city! Picturesque, quite small in size, but at the same time lively and dynamic. All in all, the programme fully met my expectations. During this year, I had the chance to genuinely strengthen my knowledge and enhance my skills both at an academic and personal level. One thing is for sure, apply to the University of Groningen and you will not regret your choice!
