Dr. J.M. (Jolien) Mouw
Dr. Jolien Mouw is an educational scientist who researches teaching and learning technologies. In her research and teaching, Jolien focuses on interactive learning, purposeful educational innovation, and educational design involving learning technologies. In particular, she looks at how augmented and virtual reality can play a role in the teaching practices of current and prospective teachers. She also focuses on training and professionalizing educators in primary and higher education.
In line with the core ideas of Recognition and Rewards, Jolien aims to show members of our academic community that research and teaching are not two opposing camps: the reciprocity between teaching and research determines and strengthens the true value of our academic coin. As a YAG member of UG’s Recognition and Rewards Committee E&W committee, Jolien hopes to contribute to further strengthening this symbiosis across faculties.
