Career prospects
The European Law in a Global Context programme is designed to equip its graduates with specialist knowledge and skills for a career with European institutions and national authorities, and with policy-influencing bodies, major law firms, or as in-house lawyers. Given the continuing and growing importance of European law, both at European level and in the national legal orders of the Member States, and the importance of the EU as a trading partner and international actor, the demand for specialised European lawyers continues to grow. To see if this LLM will qualify you for "civiel effect" in the Netherlands, please read here (in Dutch).
Below you will see a distribution of the different arenas where past students are currently working (please note this programme was previously known as European Economic Law). And here you can read about the career paths of our Faculty international graduates.
Further, all students have access to the university Careers Services Law which can help them in finding and preparing for internships and employment.
If you'd like to know more about the European Law in a Global Context LLM programme, you are welcome to join one of our Masters Week presentations for the programme. You can also watch a recording of our most recent (online) masters week presentation here.
