Vrijwel elke retailer heeft vandaag de dag naast fysieke winkels ook een online winkel. Het managen van deze totaal verschillende verkoop- en distributiekanalen zorgt voor complexe vraagstukken op operationeel gebied.

E-Global project
In het tweejarige onderzoeksproject E-Global ontwikkelt COPE nieuwe tools en verdienmodellen voor e-commerce logistiek. E-GLOBAL is een acroniem voor “Gezamenlijk Leren: Orders Beter Afhandelen in de Logistiek voor E-commerce”.  Het onderzoek wordt uitgevoerd door een consortium dat naast de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en Fontys Hogescholen bestaat uit verschillende brancheinstellingen, logistiek dienstverleners, adviesbureaus en softwareleveranciers. Het onderzoek is in 2017 gestart, heeft een looptijd van twee jaar en wordt voor 50% gefinancierd door het NWO.

E-Global Eindcongres
Als afsluiting van dit onderzoeksproject vindt er op 15 januari 2019 een eindcongres plaats in het Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem. Tijdens de verschillende lezingen, workshops en een rondleiding door het park delen wij kennis en resultaten van het E-Global project. Enkele thema’s die aan bod komen zijn: Omni-channel logistiek, E-fulfilment, Last-mile distributie, Miniondernemingen in e-commerce, Bedrukken en verpakken op maat, Voorraadbeheer, Magazijnstrategieën en Artificial Intelligence voor e-fulfilment.

E-Global Final Conference: E-commerce Logistics
Almost every retailer nowadays has both a physical and an online shop. Managing these vastly different sales and distribution channels leads to complex issues in the operational field.

E-Global project
In the two-year research project E-Global, the Center for Operational Excellence (COPE) is developing new tools and business models for e-commerce logistics. The research is conducted by a consortium made up of different branch organizations, logistics service providers, consultancy firms and software suppliers alongside the University of Groningen and Fontys University of Applied Science. The research was started in 2017 and has a duration of two years. 50% of the project is funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

E-Global Final Conference
To bring the research project to a close, a final conference will take place at the Open Air Museum in Arnhem on 15 January 2019. The knowledge and results of the E-Global project will be shared through various lectures, workshops, and a tour through the park. The themes that will be covered include omni-channel logistics, e-fulfilment, last-mile distribution, mini-companies in e-commerce, customized printing and packaging, inventory management, stockroom strategies and artificial intelligence for e-fulfilment.
