My research interests are currently developed in three projects:
1. Material Politics of Europe - This project studies the role of built environments - infrastructures, architecture, urban scapes or human-made landscapes - in shaping Europe as a political project. The project is embedded in the Transitions and Social Justice research group at the Agricola School and the doctoral school on border violence with Ghent and Goettingen universities and draws from my research stays at the New School, Indiana and UNAM universities.
2. Archive of Migration - This project explores the role of environments - rivers, mountains, forests - as archives of migration struggles. It further adopts drawings as a form of creative practice that establishes transversal lines/connections across different experiences of migration struggles across geographies and times. The project is embedded in the ColoursofaJourney project, which is a digital archive of migration struggles and DERM and IMAGINE research networks.
3. Community-engaged and Creative Research and Education - This project is based on my experience in European and international educational networks, focusing on the role of art as a critical and creative practice in community-engaged learning.
