D. (Dana) Mustata, Dr
Dana Mustata is since August 2011 assistant professor in the department of Media and Journalism Studies at the University of Groningen. She has obtained her PhD degree (cum laude) in February 2011 at Utrecht University with a dissertation on a first history of Romanian television entitled ‘The Power of Television: Including the Historicizing of the Live Romanian Revolution’.
Between 2006-2012, she has been working as a researcher on European projects such as Video Active (www.videoactive.eu) and EUscreen (www.euscreen.eu). She is currently managing editor of VIEW Journal of European Television History and Culture. From September 2013, she will be leading the project 'Television Histories in (Post)Socialist Europe'. From 2014 until 2018, she will be working on the NWO-funded project 'Everyday Matters. Material Historiographies of Television in Cold War Contexts'.
Her research interests are: (post)socialist television history, European television, use of audiovisual archives in television research, digital archives.
She has taught courses in television, journalism and film at the University of Groningen and Utrecht University.
