D.C. (Diana) Rus, Dr
At the moment, I teach two courses:
1) PSB3E-IO07: Organizational development and change. This course builds on insights from applied behavioral science, such as organizational and social psychology as well as sociology and management science. In the 21st century, organizations are in a continuous state of change in their quest to achieve competitive advantage in the global marketplace. Given the magnitude of this change and its potential rippling effects, it is important for organizational psychologists to have a basic understanding of the theories, models, processes and methods related to organizational change. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to a number of academic and practitioner perspectives on organizational change and will critically reflect on the pros and cons of various theories and approaches stemming from these perspectives.
2) PSMAB-7: Power and leadership. This course will provide an introduction to some of the more recent theoretical developments in the field of power and leadership. As such, it builds on insights from organizational and social psychology as well as organizational behavior and management science. Power and leadership processes disproportionately shape not only organizational life but also the broader societal fabric. Given the span and magnitude of the potential downstream effects of leader choices and behaviors, it is important for organizational psychologists to have a basic understanding of the more recent theories, models and processes related to power and leadership. In sum, students will be exposed to a number of academic perspectives on power and leadership and will critically reflect on the pros and cons of various theories and approaches stemming from these perspectives. As such, the course is also intended to unearth and challenge some of students' implicit assumptions about power and leadership.
I also supervise Master theses on topics such as leadership, power and creativity.
