Global Health Law Groningen’s next event will take place on Thursday, March 10th, from 15.30 – 17.00 (Van Swinderen Huys, Oude Boteringestraat 19 (Bestuurskamer)).

Last Tuesday, the Amnesty International Student Group in Groningen hosted an event on Womens’ Sexual and Reproductive Rights.

The Max Planck Institute Heidelberg will host an international workshop currently scheduled for March 3-4, 2016.

On 01 February, 2016, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the Zika virus outbreak in the Americas is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

While there is no global system for reporting attacks, recent reports from Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the International Committee of the red Cross(ICRC) suggest that health workers and their facilities are frequently targeted.

Extensive research in the fields of both medicine and psychiatry have shown the profound effect that trauma can have on an individual’s mental health, and, crucially in this case, on their memory and capacity to recall detail.

On Monday 26 January this year we officially launched our new Research Centre ‘Global Health Law Groningen’ (GHLG). Throughout the year we have devoted our energies to discuss a range of major challenges in our field.
