One year after X: Embracing open science on Mastodon

The University of Groningen Library transitioned from X (formerly Twitter) to Mastodon in October 2023, driven by ethical concerns and a desire to align with open science principles. This move, while challenging, resulted in deeper engagement and provided valuable lessons that could benefit other academic institutions considering a similar transition.
