Teaching Assistant in Statistics for undergraduate Economics students.
1987-1991:
Ph.D. student (employed by NWO) at the department of Statistics and Measurement Theory, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (University of Groningen), resulting in the dissertation Nonparametric Unfolding Models: A Latent Structure Approach, defended May, 1992 (promotores Prof. Dr. T.A.B. Snijders, Prof. Dr. I.W. Molenaar, and Dr. W.H. van Schuur).
1991-1997:
Researcher at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI), The Hague (67%) , carrying out an NWO research project to develop a micro-simulation model for projection of kin networks and to estimate the number of kin in the past based on genealogical data.
1997-2000:
Biostatistician at the Department of Medical Statistics, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in Leiden.
1999-2000:
Member of the Medical Ethical board of Leyenburg hospital in The
Hague.
2000-2005:
Consulting biostatistician at the Office for Medical Technology Assessment (MTA) and at the Office of the Medical Ethical Board of the University Hospital Groningen (AZG) in Groningen.
2006-2009:
Assistant Professor of medical statistics at the Department of Epidemiology, University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) in Groningen.
2005-2008:
Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Groningen (10–30%) for teaching and developing graduate and Research Master courses in Statistics.
2010-August 2012:
Assistant Professor of methodology and statistical methods at the Department of Orthopedagogy, University of Groningen.
