dr. W.G. (Wim) Biemans
Wim Biemans is Associate Professor of Innovation & Marketing at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. He holds a PhD degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology for his research on “Managing Innovation within Networks” (1989), which was published by Routledge in 1992.
Wim has more than 25 years of experience researching, teaching and consulting about innovation management and B2B marketing. He published more than 100 scientific papers and articles, published in journals such as Journal of Product Innovation Management, Technovation, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Innovation Management and R&D Management.
His article ‘Twenty Years of the Journal of Product Innovation Management; History, Participants and Knowledge Stock and Flows’ was awarded the first Thomas P. Hustad Best Paper Award for Outstanding Professional Contribution. Wim is the Triage Editor of Journal of Product Innovation Management and a member of the Editorial Review Board of Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing.
His current research covers a broad range of topics, such as service innovation, customer involvement in innovation, ethics in innovation, marketing-sales interface, the effect of humor on innovation, the effect of flexibility on new project performance and bridging the gap between technology development and product development.
Wim authored several books about marketing and innovation, including the best-selling Dutch text about B2B marketing (Business Marketing Management, Noordhoff, 7th Edition, 2016), which is also available in English (Business to Business Marketing, McGraw-Hill, 2010). He has taught as guest professor at several universities in Europe, Asia and the US and frequently teaches workshops to managers about innovation management, entrepreneurial marketing and creating customer value.
