TALENT4S3 (2024-2028): The TALENT4S3 project (funding €1.6M) is a 4-year Interreg project led by FUNDECYT-PCTEX, Spain. The project aims to improve the regions' retention and attraction of TALENT for a better deployment of Smart Specialisation Strategies. The following partners are involved: RRA Podravje - Maribor (Slovenia), Emilia-Romagna Region - Unit for Research, Innovation and European Networks (Italy), North-West Regional Development Agency (Romania), Lapland Regional Council (Finland), Public Institute Lithuanian Innovation Center (Lithuania), and South regional assembly (Ireland).

The University of Groningen team (funding €165K) comprises Thijs Broekhuizen (PI), Sierdjan Koster, and Agata Troost. As an advisory partner, the Groningen team is responsible for the development of the State-of-the-Art, co-organizing the 4 International Thematic Workshops, and actively participating in the 7 Social Visits. SIRM (2023-2027): The Socioeconomic Integration of Refugees and Migrants (SIRM) project (funding €1.3M) is a 4-year Interreg project led by RRDA (Rzsezow Regional Development Agency, Poland. The following partners are involved: Maramures County Council (RO), Prešov Self-Governing Region (SK), University of Latvia (LV), Municipality of Brindisi (IT), City of Sibenik (HR), Munster Technological University (IE), and Podkarpackie Region - The Regional Centre for Social Policy (PL).

The University of Groningen team (funding 189K) comprises Thijs Broekhuizen (PI), Florian Noseleit, Michael Wyrwich, and Sandra Nijgh. As an advisory partner, the Groningen team is responsible for co-organizing the 6 Transnational Learning Meetings and the 7 online meetings. 

PASSPARTOOL (2020-2023): Thijs Broekhuizen (PI), Florian Noseleit, and Erzsi Meerstra-de Haan (replaced in 2023 by Michael Wyrwich) participated as a knowledge partner in the project PASSPARTOOL financed by Interreg Europe and led by ARTI (Bari, Italy). The 4-year project has demonstrated how to monitor and stimulate soft innovation in regions. Click on the links for the project website and interview on the project.

Online customer journey (2018): VERBIND. Since 2016, Thijs has participated in a consortium led by the Hogeschool Utrecht, which won a SiA-KIEM grant (€20K) in 2018. This consortium VERBIND aims to build tools to analyze and optimize online customer journeys.

Strategies to increase profitability in the construction industry (2017). In 2017, Thijs Broekhuizen and Killian McCarthy won an NWO-KIEM Research (€15K) on "Strategies for increasing profitability in the construction industry". The results of this research appeared in the media: BNR Radio, BNA, and Co-Bouw.
