I work as a lecturer, researcher, writer and curator. In all these capacities, I am particularly interested in the intersection between art and today’s multiple, entangled environmental crises. In May 2022, I defend my PhD dissertation Living with Toxicity: Disruptive Temporalities in Visual Art and Literature. I was an affiliated researcher at the Posthumanities Hub at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden in 2020. My current research investigates Dutch nuclear aesthetics and culture post-1990.

In 2019, I initiated and curated After Hiroshima: Cultural Responses to the Atomic Bomb, a cultural week in Groningen with exhibitions, performances, screenings and lectures relating to nuclear weapons. In 2020, I curated Susanne Kriemann’s exhibition Mngrv at Galerie Block C.

I have published academic articles and chapters on nuclear art and culture, toxicity, environmental illness, and human and non-human temporalities, including a special issue on Nuclear Aesthetics for Kunstlicht together with Kyveli Mavrokordopoulou. I have written for Kunstpunt and Metropolis M.

I teach about art, literature, narrative, language, and identity at the Honours College and the department of Minorities and Multilingualism.
