Ody Sibon is currently a full professor at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, where she is studying the fundamental mechanisms underlying/ leading to age-related neurodegeneration. She is using Drosophila melanogaster, mammalian cell and mice models for this work. In 2002 she received a Vidi grant and in 2011 a Vici grant from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). She is involved in several European consortia studying and treating rare diseases.
In 1995-1997 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the State University of Stony Brook, New York, at the Department of Biochemistry, under Prof. W.E. Theurkauf. She was awarded an NWO talent-fellowship for this research.
