N. Haleem, PhD

Dr. Haleem is an Assistant Professor in Data Science & Society at University of Groningen / Campus Fryslân, where he teaches technical courses in applied data science and supervise PhD students.

He received a PhD from Deakin University (Australia), where his research focused on studying complex interactions between process-structure-properties of natural fibrous materials. He completed a two years postdoctoral research with Pattern Analysis & Computer Vision research group at Italian Institute of Technology (Italy), where together with his colleagues and industrial partners he invented and patented a new online and automated quality inspection system for industrial application. He is also a recipient of prestigious European Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellowship and worked in one of the largest public sector hospitals in Norway to study human brain-gut axis using data science methods in patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.
