Universitair Hoofddocent Cognitive Modeling

Data Analytics & Communication:  students learn the basics of how to interpret data and how to critically evaluate the results and communicate them effectively. They also learn the importance of Open Science. You can find the syllabus here.

Formal Models of Cognition (KIM.FMC) :  I co-teach this course with Niels TaatgenJennifer Spenader, Jelmer Borst, Jacolien van Rij-Tange, and Fokie Cnossen. The course surveys many different cognitive models. I discuss mathematical models, with particular emphasis on the Drift Diffusion Model and Summed Similarity models.

Computational Cognitive Neuroscience (KIM.CCN) : In this course we survey the most important cognitive models that have been related to neural data in domains ranging from decision making to memory and spatial navigation. The course also has an applied component where students learn to analyze EEG data. You can find the syllabus here.

Introduction to the Brain : In this first-year course students learn about the functions of the different parts of the brain and the basic analysis methods for investigating brain functions. This is a learning communities course, so a large part of the course consists of group work.
