Dr Alffenaar regulary participates as a teacher in post graduate courses. His lectures are focused on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs in the field infectious diseases. Participants are (hospital)pharmacists, ID physicians, pulmonologist, medical microbiologists, public health physicians, ICU physicians and specialized nurses.

He also gives a guest lecture at the RUG/Pharmacy "Infections and tumors".
