mr. dr. J. (Jasper) Verstappen

Jasper holds a Master's degree in Dutch Private law and a Master's degree in European law (cum laude) from Maastricht University. He was a visitor to the Centre for European Studies at the Australian University in Canberra and a Blue Book Trainee with the European Commission in Brussels. 

Prior to joining the University of Groningen, Jasper worked as a senior consultant for a large international firm in Amsterdam, advising clients exclusively in the area of financial services. Whilst working in Amsterdam, Jasper was appointed as external PhD Candidate with Maastricht University, where he worked on a thesis on contractual and proprietary aspects of smart contracts in French law, German law, English law, and Dutch law, including matters of private international law and consumer protection.
