J. (Jingting. Tiya) Lei, MSc
Jingting Lei is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Groningen (2021-present), focusing on financial networks, systemic crises, political economy and global financial governance. With a Master’s in International Relations from Nankai University, China (2018-2021) and a Bachelor’s in International Politics from Shanxi University (2013-2017), Jingting brings a interdisciplinary background to her PhD work. She is part of the Sustainable Cooperation: Roadmaps to a Resilient Society (SCOOP) program and the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS). Her current work focuses on the resilience of global financial systems, investigating how interconnectedness among banks and non-bank institutions influences systemic stability. Using advanced network analysis, she examines the dynamics of financial governance in response to shifting global economic forces.
