dr. J.F.M. (Job) van Boven
My multidisciplinary research team of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, sociologists, health technologists and health economists aims to optimize real-world drug outcomes and help people and society making the most of medicines. I have particular interest in personalized and digital medication adherence optimization of drugs used to treat respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD, TB, CF, lung transplantation and lung cancer).
Research themes include:
(1) Identification of patient groups that could have clinical and/or economic benefit from optimization of medication adherence.
(2) Development, validation and usability testing of innovative devices (e.g. smartphone apps) and technologies such as digital inhalers and spacers, electronic pill bottles, injectables and smart blisters that monitor adherence.
(3) Clinical trials to assess the (cost)effectiveness of (personalized) medication adherence enhancing tools, interventions and strategies in patients.
