J.A. Kuivenhoven gave master courses for medical biochemistry and molecular biology (BMS005-2007; organized by FNWI-UvA Biomedial Sciences SILS-AMC). He gave classes for Curius at the AMC (metabolic basis of inherited disease). For the Amsterdam international medical summer school he gave teaches on lipoprotein metabolism and for the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, and the Department of Clinical Chemistry, he gave master classes on the genetics and biochemistry of lipid metabolism. J.A. Kuivenhoven tutors (bio)medial and analytical bachelor and master students. Currently he is involved in several courses for medical and life sciences students at the UMCG – curriculum 2020. Finally, J.A. Kuivenhoven gives PhD courses for the Dutch Atherosclerosis Society.
