prof. dr. G.J. (Jan) van Helden

Jan van Helden (born 1948, Enschede) has been an academic staff member of the Faculty of Economics (an recently the Faculty of Economics and Business) of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands since 1991, initially as an associate professor and since the beginning of 1999 as a professor in management accounting (and emeritus professor since September 2010). From September 2001 until September 2005 he also has been vice-dean of the Faculty of Economics. In that capacity, the Faculty’s teaching activities were his responsibility.

 

From 1994 until the beginning of 1999 Jan van Helden was an academic staff member of the Free University of Amsterdam, where, in its post-graduate Controller Training Program, he was a part-time professor in management control in non-profit organizations. From 1982 to 1991 he was a member of the executive of the province of Groningen responsible for finance, personnel and organization, and administrative matters. From 1972 to 1982 he was an assistant and later associate professor in business economics and marketing at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Groningen.
