General profile

I am an associate professor and an all-around senior policy adviser, currently employed by the Department of Economic Geography of the University of Groningen. Although I have now a strong focus on scientific research, I have a long professional career in management consulting with regional and local authorities and institutions. I am driven by substantive agenda's and innovative and creative solutions for complex issues as inspiration for research that is socially relevant and among else leads to publications in leading international scientific journals.
