Housing
International Student Houses
The University of Groningen does not have a university campus. Instead, our buildings and faculties can be found throughout the city of Groningen. To accommodate international guests, we work closely together with the SSH, a non-profit housing organisation that offers furnished accommodation in Groningen for (international) students in one of our International Student Houses. All International Student Houses are fully furnished, have facilities to cook, and have internet access. Please do keep in mind that Groningen is a popular student town, and that housing is scarce and expensive as a result of an ever growing student population. In addition, there is the risk of higher hotel rates because of the holiday season in summer time.
Costs
We can arrange housing for you, you will certainly have a fully furnished, single room (and access to cooking facilities). We can offer you a standard package with the following conditions. Please send an email to Sebastian Trip (s.trip rug.nl) before 1 May 2015 if you want to make use of this offer.
- Standard rental from Saturday to Saturday.
- Standard rent price for one week: €250 (7 nights). This includes cleaning, clean sheets, basic kitchen utensils and a practical welcoming package. The price for two weeks (10-14 nights) is €350.
- Check-in: Saturday (after 3 PM).
- Check-out: Saturday 11 AM.
Arrange your own housing
Of course you can still decide to arrange your own housing. There are various opportunities, ranging from low-budget youth hostels to bed and breakfasts and (high-end) hotels.
