About our services

Our mission is to provide academic staff, lecturers and (PhD) students with accessible access to all IT services and facilities of the University of Groningen and to offer specialized support in the use of these services.

Research Support

Under the name Research & Innovation Support (RIS) we have been providing successful support for many years, in the field of high performance computing (HPC), automation of data processing and analysis (data science), Virtual and Augmented Reality (XR) and 3D (visualization) and geographic data analysis and visualization (geoscience).

Innovative digital research

Researchers and students are increasingly making use of innovative digital research methods. These research methods require specific knowledge and expertise that a researcher does not always have. The aim of the research services is that researchers, regardless of the question and the research stage they are in, should be able to obtain advice immediately on how to best use innovative digital research methods in research and, if applicable, know which resources they must reserve for this in a grant application.
