Writing Retreat Days
UTQ Writing Retreat Days are days held periodically throughout the year where you can set aside time to just come and work on your UTQ. Though largely an individual writing process, teachers in past years have said they would have liked ways to both make the portfolio-writing a bit more collaborative as well as have some dedicated time for finishing them up. So if you’re looking for some motivation, reserved writing time in your agenda, or just don’t feel like working alone, please come and join us. There are no costs involved.
For whom?
UTQ candidates who are in the process of writing ..
-
.. the UTQ registration portfolio (from before September '23)
-
.. the UTQ by Experience assignments
-
.. the regular UTQ assignments
What can I expect at the retreat?
Of course, these are not overnight ‘retreats’ as the name might suggest, so think of these as day-long co-working spaces where teachers come together for a whole or half day to work on their UTQ. The time is not structured at all so while ESI teaching coaches will be there to answer any questions you may have, the day is completely open for you to work. We will meet in the city center.
What should I bring?
Since the retreat days are open for you to work, all you need to do is bring your computer and the portfolio that you’ll be working on. If you are joining for the whole day, you need to bring your own lunch. You’re also welcome to sign up with a colleague or two who may also be working on their UTQ!
