Dr. Maeve McKeown

What responsibility do we have for global structural injustices? This is the question that Maeve McKeown addresses in her book With Power Comes Responsibility: The Politics of Structural Injustice (Bloomsbury Academic, 2024). She is an Assistant Professor in Political Theory at the interdisciplinary faculty of Campus Fryslân. In addition to her work on structural injustice and responsibility, She also researches reparations for historical injustice and feminism. She has held positions at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Frankfurt.

Maeve is committed to inclusion and diversity and is a member of the YAG’s Diversity and Inclusion working group. She’s particularly interested in improving conditions in academia for students and staff with disabilities. She also engages regularly in public engagement.
