OIKOS PhD Award
As an incentive to finish dissertations on time, OIKOS presents PhD candidates who graduate in time with a PhD Award of €500,-. Read more about the requirements and past laureates. -
Van Woudenberg Dissertatieprijs
This prize is awarded every 2 years, for a PhD thesis that has profited from research conducted at the Dutch Institute in Rome (KNIR). It consists of €2500,- and a stay at the KNIR. -
Keetje Hodshonprijs
This prize is awarded every year, for a PhD thesis in the Humanities that has been written in the five previous years. It is awarded to a different field each year (Linguistics, History, Literary Studies or Philosophy). -
Praemium Erasmianum studieprijs
This prize is awarded every year to five researchers who have contributed to research in Humanities, Law or Social Sciences. The prize consists of €3000,-. -
Research Award International Association of Assyriology Subsidies for Cuneiform Studies
This prize is awarded every year for research on the Ancient Near East by PhDs or recently graduated PhDs. It consists of €1000,-.
Thesis prizes

OIKOS Thesis Award
Every two years OIKOS presents two awards for the best research master's theses written in the previous two academic years. One award is offered to the best thesis in the disciplines of Greek, Latin and Ancient Philosophy, the other for the best thesis in the disciplines of Ancient History and Classical Archaeology. Ted Meijer Prijs
This prize is awarded every year, for an MA thesis or dissertation in the Humanities, which has relations to Rome and/or Italy. It consists of a 3-month stay at the KNIR institute and a research grant of €2400,-/€3000,-. -
Scriptieprijs Werkgroep Italiëstudies
This prize is awarded every two years, for an MA thesis which has a special relation to Italy. It consists of a research grant of €500,- and a stay at the KNIR.
