
Cum laude for Jelle Slager

Departmental researcher Jelle Slager, who recently started working in the NOCI Gut-on-a-chip project, successfully defended his PhD thesis “Triggering pneumococcal competence: Memoirs of an escape artist” on February 22, 2019 and was awarded his doctorate cum laude. The cum laude distinction is awarded to Ph.D. theses at the University of Groningen that are judged by the committee to represent ‘outstanding’ research. Jelle’s thesis is available here.
