Cum laude for Arnau Vich Vila

Arnau Vich Vila successfully defended his thesis on December 2, 2019 and was awarded his doctorate cum laude (“with distinction”) in recognition of the outstanding quality of his thesis. Arnau’s thesis research explored the relationship between genetics, microbiome and environmental factors such as medication use in the context of inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
