Materials for Health

This multidisciplinary research is incorporating diverse fields including cell biology, pharmacokinetics, biopharmacy and pharmaceutical analysis. Main research themes in projects related to materials for health comprise: understanding the mechanisms of solute transport across membranes, the formulation and physical aspects of dry powder inhalers, and molecular mechanisms for multidrug resistance (MDR) transporters which is a major problem in the treatment of infectious diseases and cancer; inventing innovative drug delivery systems for the cell-specific targeting of drugs, and therapeutic proteins; establishing knowledge base of modern and proven analytical methodologies to develop analytical applications in the pharmaceutical sciences. Indeed, our vision encompasses innovative discoveries from these research activities which can improve different segments of healthcare challenge area.
