Preliminary itinerary

The tourist vessel m/v Ortelius will be our hotel during the expedition.

The itinerary is a guideline and will depend on progress, weather and wildlife. Small changes are possible pending scientific demands. Limitation factors are related to safety, legal issues, permits and maximum number of activities that can be carried out at the same time.

• 13 July: leaving Longyearbyen at around 17h
• 14 July: possible landing on South Spitsbergen between Sørkap and Isbukta and sailing by Stellingfjellet the biggest colony of Brünnichs Guillmots in Spitsbergen
• 15 July: Kapp Lee
• 16 July: Agardhfjellet, possibility to stay behind in Kapp Lee/Rosendalen
• 17 July: Freemansundet, North side of Barentsøya
• 18 July: Diskobukta or Kapp Lee
• 19 July: Habenichtbukta
• 20 July: Andrétangen
• 21 July: Hornsund
• 22 July: back in Longyearbyen, disembarkation at around 9:00h, afternoon seminar in Longyearbyen at UNIS
