Role of Arctic Centre

The Arctic Centre is active in several Dutch collaboration initiatives.

The most important one is the Willem Barents Polar Network.

WBPI is a virtual network institute, bringing together Dutch Polar researchers. An important activity has been the organisation of two SEES.nl expeditions, one in 2025 and one in 2022.

Since its start in 2008, the Arctic Centre has run the WBPI secretariat, with Annette Scheepstra as coordinator.
