In the central hall of the Röling Building one finds a stone with the poem 'In Groningen' by Rutger Kopland. This poem is part of his ninth collection of poetry, titled "Dankzij de Dingen", which was published in 1989.

Kopland wrote the text for a poster, at the request of the Culture Department of Groningen. It would be hung in various places and was first installed in the floor of the Public Library near the entrance to the reading café. The intention is for the passer-by to dwell on the text, in which ambiguity can be read (by 'here' is not meant space, but the poem itself).

When the building on the Oude Boteringestraat was converted into the Röling Building, the stone was moved with it and placed on the wall next to the cafeteria.
