In the stairwell that connects the large pantries from the first to the fourth floor (middle corridors) within the Röling Building, one can find five paintings by Law alumna Irene Buitenhuis. The paintings are called 'Forum', 'Martini by night', 'Ome Loeks' horse', 'Pop' and 'Abstract flowers'.

Irene Buitenhuis studied law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen. During the first corona lockdown she started painting and she hasn't stopped since. The city of Groningen and cityscapes are her biggest source of inspiration, but she also enjoys doing personal assignments. Her biggest project was a mural in Maastricht.

Most of Irene's paintings are for sale. Those interested can contact her on Instagram.
