Application deadline
The application in Studielink must be initiated before May 1st 2025, and all essential application documents for an admission decision (conditional or full) must be submitted before this date*. Please note English language proficiency tests are not required at the time of application but can be submitted at a later date. Applicants with non-Dutch qualifications should contact the admissions office directly at through this form for further information regarding final deadlines for submitting proficiency tests. Applicants with Dutch qualifications should contact the International Office at llm rug.nl.
*If you are a Faculty graduate (or soon to be graduate) applying via direct access, please contact the Study Advisers at llm rug.nl for instructions before initiating an application in Studielink.
The admission procedure can take up to six weeks. All applicants should take this into consideration when they are dealing with the various scholarship and visa application deadlines. The responsibility for making all deadlines fully lies with the student.
Please note, our LLMs currently only begin in September 1st of each year. There is no February start date (like some other degree programmes at the University of Groningen).
IMPORTANT: For non-EU applicants that require a visa to study in the Netherlands, please contact the Immigration Service Desk for final deadlines for visa applications for studies beginning in September 2025. It is highly reccomended to apply to LLM programmes as soon as possible with all required documents to ensure adequate time for visa application. PLEASE NOTE: Students, whose participation is dependent upon receipt of a scholarship from any organization, should be aware that they first have to be admitted to the programme before they can apply for a scholarship. The deadlines of scholarship programmes may vary.
