RESPECT Policy Workshop: Privacy Enabled Surveillance? (OPENSUR-2013), 2 and 3 July
As part of the RESPECT project (an FP7 collaborative project coordinated by the Faculty of Law), a Policy Workshop will be held in Ljubljana on 2-3 July 2013. During this workshop a diverse group of surveillance experts, law enforcement stakeholders and privacy advocates will meet to discuss the sustainability of the increased use of ICTs and other surveillance technologies in today’s society. The question of balance between convenience, cost-effectiveness and respect for individual privacy forms the central theme to be addressed. Outcomes of the project activities will be communicated to policy-makers and other important stakeholders, who will in turn provide feedback on the project’s developments.
A call for papers for researchers carrying out research in relevant fields is available uks.fe.uni-lj.si/respect/ Deadline for submission is 17 May 2013.
