Groningen has been named the third happiest city in Europe, according to a survey by the European Commission, which assessed the satisfaction of over 70,000 residents from 83 cities. This survey measured key factors influencing quality of life, such as inclusivity, urban development, living conditions, and cultural offerings.
Groningen stood out for its vibrant cultural scene, ranking first in Europe for cultural facilities, and 96 percent of residents reported satisfaction with life in the city. The city’s appeal extends to students, young families and older citizens, who appreciate its welcoming environment, making it an ideal place for both personal and academic growth.
