Mentor
Every first-year student is assigned to a mentor group, led by a senior student of the programme. Your mentor is there to help you adjust to life at university and your programme in particular, with (group) mentor meetings, individual talks and social activities. Your mentor is the first point of contact while you get settled. During the first half year of the programme there will be several meetings where you can ask them anything.
Your mentor will contact you before 2 September to introduce themself and let you know which mentor group you have been assigned to. If you have not received a mail from your mentor before 2 September, please email your academic advisor (academicadvisor.bsc.ai rug.nl) about this and include your student number and a cell phone number, if possible.
Your mentor group number also indicates the group you have been assigned to for tutorials and other small-scale activities in the curriculum. You can find it in the schedule as ‘AI yr1 gr [mentor group number]’.
Together with another mentor group you will form a Learning Community. You will follow the tutorials of some of your first-year courses with your Learning Community.
