About us FEB Education Admission and application Application route - Master Apply for a Master

Step 2: How to apply

The first step you need to take if you decide to apply is register on Studielink. Studielink is the national database for admission to higher education in the Netherlands. From 1 October onwards, Studielink will open for new registrations.

Tip: Take a look at the application checklist before you start.

How can you apply?

Your application will consist of three steps:

  1. Studielink - You will first register online in the national online registration system, called Studielink. All Dutch higher education institutes use this same programme. Application for the upcoming academic year is possible from October onwards.
  2. Progress Portal - After you submit your application in Studielink, you will receive a message from Studielink stating that the University of Groningen (UG) has to verify your educational background through the Progress Portal (replacing the previous system, OAS, as per October 2023). This system allows you to upload digital copies of your application documents and offers you the opportunity to keep track of the progress of your application.
  3. Invidual assessment - Upon submitting your application the Admissions Office will verify and assess your admissions request. In case you are eligible for entry, you need to be registered as a student. This involves providing the University with your certified proof of graduation, a photograph for your student card and payment of your tuition fee before the start of the programme.

For more information see the international application guide or go to the UG application pages.

Programme profile and tracks

Some Master's programmes offer different profiles or tracks which might not be listed in the application system Studielink.

MSc Business Administration (with five profiles)

In Studielink you need to apply for the MSc Business Administration. However, to complete the admission procedure, we need to know for which profile you want to apply. You can select the profile in the Progress Portal. Please pick the profile of your choice in the Progress Portal Step 6: Proposed programme , in the box Specialization.

MSc Marketing (with two tracks)

In Studielink, you will need to register for the specific track of the MSc Marketing you wish to follow: Marketing Management or Marketing Analytics and Data Science.
