Train the trainer
Are you responsible for developing the intercultural competence of others? Do you wonder how you can be more effective in helping them in their learning?
Become part of a professional community of intercultural competence trainers working towards improving the quality of our intercultural training. Through this professional development programme you will become a better facilitator of others’ intercultural learning while continuing to deepen your own intercultural skills.
You build upon the knowledge acquired during the Winter School on Intercultural Competence applying the insights from the Intercultural Communication field to the design, development, and delivery of our trainings. We will focus on learning from our own practice as educators, reflecting on how we can improve our education and further linking our practice to the theory. We will explore further applications of the developmental model to our teaching, address questions you encounter and explore new relevant arenas of the field such as teaching IC online and incorporating the power of transformative teaching.
This course serves to develop a community that supports each other while engaging more deeply with our daily practice as educators.

Testimonials
'Michaela is a very knowledgeable trainer, who perfectly combines the theory and her own extensive experience as an IC trainer, TCK, and global citizen. She taught me how to take my own students through their intercultural learning process , by asking valuable questions, adding insightful reflections and using the theory as a helpful framework. Michaela is also a very kind and patient trainer who takes the time to incorporate different perspectives and values an open discussion in her classes.'
Marjoleine Havik, Cultures Connect
'Besides being extremely knowledgeable, Michaela makes very good use of her international experience to come up with an illustrative example that brings any difficult theoretical IC concept home to all participants.'
Ruben Comadina Granson, University of Groningen
