Career orientation
As a beginning academic, you are faced with a multitude of choices regarding your career. You have a temporary appointment at the UG, but at the same time you have to start considering your next steps. What will you be doing next? Would you like to continue in research or teaching? Or would you rather find a job outside the academic world? Which talents would you like to develop further, and in what direction? Whatever you decide on, this training will help you to explore —together with other beginning academics— the next steps of your career.
Objective
The goal of this training is to help you to prepare for your future career. You will get a clear idea of your career possibilities. You will reflect on your own convictions and personal values. You will also gain insight into your talents, goals, and the importance of networking.
Programme
During this training, the emphasis will lie on strengths and opportunities. As a participant, you will explore your opportunities from your current position into the direction of your desired destination. You will do this based on your personal interests, pitfalls, values, and preferred styles. After three days you will have drawn up your own action plan for the next steps in your career, which will allow you to further progress your own career.

On completion of the training programme:
