Arts in Health Summer School
The emerging field of arts in health uses creative practices to provide care and to support well-being and illness prevention. Thirty years of scientific research reveals how arts in health empowers people to pursue their own well-being; prevents compassion fatigue among health professionals; and promotes disease prevention and healthy living.
Around the world, demand-driven health systems are unable to keep up with the rising costs and complexity of medical treatments. Growing social demands strain health systems beyond capacity. Arts in health is a new approach for re-humanising the health professions and supporting wellness in our communities.
Students will be introduced to the theory, practical training, and ethics of how the arts contribute to care.
