Online meeting of the Law Faculties of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia) and UG
Upon the initiative of Prof. Paripurna P. Soegarda, Vice-Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada and LL.M. alum of UG, the Law Faculties of UGM and UG met online on Thursday 3 February.
Both faculties offer international undergraduate programs in Law, and readily agreed to assess at short notice how the UGM IUP and the UG LL.B. can be combined into an international double degree undergraduate program. A double degree LL.M. is also on the wishlist, and will be next up for consideration. Last but not least, a double doctorate project in Tax Law, with supervision and degree award from both universities, is going to be elaborated in parallel.
The Dean of Fakultas Hukum UGM, Dr. Dahliana Hasan, the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, and Partnership Head Mr. Taufiq Adiyanto joined Prof. Paripurna in this meeting with UG Dean Prof. Wilbert Kolkman, Groningen Graduate School of Law director Prof. Albertjan Tollenaar, SEA ASEAN Centre director Prof. Ronald Holzhacker, Faculty International Coordinator Ms. Kirsten Wolkotte, and UG Southeast Asia manager Mr. Tim Zwaagstra:

Universitas Gadjah Mada and UG are strategic partners. Double degree programs are among the foremost targets of the UG Strategic Partner Framework, in a pilot project for 9 non-EU universities worldwide. COVID-19 permitting, a visit by UG President Prof. Jouke de Vries and delegation to UGM is slated for early November of 2022.
