Erasmus+ Staff Week 2018: 9-13 April

From 9 to 13 April 2018 we hosted 46 participants for our staff week. We were happy to welcome colleagues from 20 different countries, a real international setting!
UG experts set up an interesting and interactive programme on two themes:
- Internationalization at Home
- Sustainability and the Green University
The programme contained presentations, interactive sessions, field trips, discussion groups and small work groups. Different aspects of both themes were highlighted during the programme. We look back at a very inspiring staff week, where ideas have been shared and new relationships have been built. A more detailed programme can be found here.
Some responses from our participants on Internationalization at home:
“Intercultural taster session - a great 3-hour session that just flew by. Made people talk and realise how important culture is when working and the benefits that can be gained from working in diverse groups. Brilliant session!”
“Excellent session on the great experience the RUG has with International Classroom, which can definitely be applied, at my home institution”
“Student Organisations -- Good to hear what matters from a student point of view. Excellent representatives of UG.”
“Onboarding: surprising how professionally and warmly the international staff is welcomed and introduced in the business environment”
Some responses from our participants on Sustainability and the Green Office
“Psychology on sustainability - Very interesting and inspiring!”
“Visit to Zernike-campus was almost like visiting the future. It really impressed me!”
“The brainstorming session was also inspiring because it allowed us to work together”
“Presentation on Sustainable Buildings - Running an university spin off company thanks to real researchments related with sustainability is such a fantastic goal”
“Green Office presentations - I found this useful as the Green Office were most similar to my area of work (compared to other participants), so lots of their ideas and initiatives could be translated to my organisation/inform our projects.”
