Albatrozz

Albatrozz is working on a technique to improve the efficiency of wind turbines, especially at low wind speeds. Wind farms often do not achieve maximum production because the wind turbines often run with a low efficiency at low wind speeds. Seabirds such as albatrosses cope well with low wind speeds. They wiggle their long wings around the long axis, called oscillation. This means that the peak forces are up to twice as high and the average lift forces as high as 125 to 150 percent of the normal force. After much research, this principle has been applied to wind turbines and thus the Albatrozz patent has been established.

Rabo Sustainable Innovation Award

This year, Rabobank is presenting the Rabo Sustainable Innovation Award for the nineteenth time. Three finalists have now been selected from hundreds of applications in four categories. The four categories are Energy Transition, Food Transition, Vital Communities & Care and Circular Entrepreneurship. The winner of each category will receive EUR 20,000 to further develop their innovation. Starting May 2nd, members of the Rabobank can vote for the public award.
