Night of Arts and Sciences: Science LinX @ Der Aa-kerk
During the Night of Arts and Sciences, over 2000 people visited the Science LinX exhibition at the Der Aa-kerk. Alongside the travelling exhibition RE:Charge, which is about the transition to renewable energy, they could also see a number of other artistic and scientific exhibits. The Night in eight numbers and eight photos.
More than 2000 people visited the Science LinX exhibition during the Night of Arts and Sciences.
The heartbeats of the visitors could be heard through 200 stethoscopes.
A dozen smartphones were trashed to show which precious (and often non-renewable) materials they contain.
Through their electrical resistance, 1000s of hyphae gave the visitors a relaxing massage that was regulated by their heartbeat.
The visitors used their muscle power to turn 12 kilos of strawberries into smoothies on the Blender Bikes.
Hundreds of visitors were given their own personal energy label, based on their lifestyle.
Bits of Freedom ‘stole’ dozens of login names for Wi-Fi networks from visitors' smartphones and projected them on the ceiling of the church.
And much more...
The organisation has decided that there will be no Night of Arts and Science in 2017. For 2018, they are planning a relaunch with a new concept.
