New international fellow: dr. Edemilson Paraná
We are thrilled to welcome dr. Edemilson Paraná as a RAS Fellow. Dr Paraná will contribute to the Development, Security and Justice (DSJ) theme in multiple ways drawing on his wide expertise in political economy and economic sociology. He will also contribute to the Research Group on Sustainability Technology (SusTech), including the research group's official launch on 20 January where collaborations will be discussed with the International Summer School on the Political Economy of Green Digital Transition he organised in Lappeenranta, Finland.
dr. Edemilson Paraná is an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences at LUT University, Finland, and affiliate professor in the Graduate Program in Sociology at the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. He has taught at the University of Brasília and the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, and held research fellowships at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA, Brazil), the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), and the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data (WISERD)/Cardiff University. Edemilson has lectured and published in the areas of Political Economy, Economic Sociology, and Social Theory. His research interests include Digital Economy, Digital Finance and the Political Economy of Artificial Intelligence.
