"Language buddies" for Ukrainian researchers

The Language Buddy Project was a grassroot initiative by independent YAG academics. In its one and a half year of activity, the project has matched 65 projects from Ukrainian scholars with mentors to help with revisions and with consulting about which journals to submit to. We received great feedback, and we are very happy to have organized this project, as a small contribution and an example of how scholars can make a practical contribution to linguistic justice in academia.

From June 2024, we have decided not to continue this project in its current form. For this reason, we encourage scholars who intended to sign up, either to become a mentor or to find one, to the mentoring scheme offered by the project AuthorAID. This is an organization that aims for linguistic justice in academia, and it covers scholars from all over the world.
